Silvana Metallo is an award winning photographer based in Toronto, Canada. Her work has been featured in various well-known Canadian publications, including Saturday Night Magazine, Flare, Elle Canada, Maclean’s and The Globe and Mail's Report On Business Magazine. Silvana commissioned me to create a logo and visual identity that expressed her uniquely personal approach to image making.

THE LOGO
Silvana brings a joy to her work and has such a friendly, personable demeanour, which inspired and informed the design of the logo. The core idea was to create a customized word mark with a celebratory feel, that captured the essence of the photographer and her personality. When using the logo, care is taken with placement, sizing and positioning, to ensure that it is used as an identifier in support of the images. A bolder more graphic approach is taken when applying the logo to physical items, packaging and in print, creating an instantly identifiable yet elegant introduction to the photographer and her work.
MONOGRAM
A secondary monogram was created for use across applications such as mailing labels, watermarks on images, embossed applications and on various print and marketing materials. This provided a short form version of the logo which could be applied in combination with the main wordmark to provide a special little distinctive touch that raises the identity to a higher level of professionalism.
